Professional Experience

Eduardo’s main lines of action and research have been the study of the adaptability and mitigation of the effects of climate change on Chile’s hydrological resources and innovative methodologies to develop efficient and sustainable water uses. He has an extensive background in hydrological and hydraulic modeling that has allowed him to participate in important national studies on these topics as a member of the research team of the hydrology area of the University of Chile. His areas of interest include environmental hydrogeology, the study of climate as a substantial part of the understanding of the hydrological cycle and teaching. He has been teaching practical activities since the creation of the Graduate in Hydrogeology applied to Mining given by the FCFM (Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences) of the University of Chile and is the hydrology advisor of the Department of Irrigation Projects (DPR) of the Hydraulic Works Department (DOH) of the Ministry of Public Works of Chile (DOH-MPW).

Professional Experience

Mauricio has worked in different areas of hydraulic engineering, including the design of structures for mining, flood hazard analysis and detrital flow, generation of snowmelt and snowmelt runoff, as well as artificial recharge of aquifers. His beginnings were at the University of Chile, as a research engineer where he also developed teaching support. In the private sector, he was a project engineer in the company SNC-Lavalin as well as in the Chilean General Water Authority. He has coordinated different field works in specific areas such as snowpack characterization, design of conduction and flood protection structures.

Professional Experience

Rodrigo has experience in a wide range of projects, from hydrological modeling applied to climate change to hydraulic modeling applied to environmental flows and sediment transport, including extensive experience in field data collection. Both from private consulting and academia, Rodrigo has participated in the publication of scientific articles in national and international conferences on various topics discussed in the different projects in which he has participated. His personal area of interest is the integrated and adaptive management of water resources and the environment, incorporating the legal, institutional and social framework for sustainable management.

Professional Experience

Rosa has experience in the stochastic generation of rainfall, and in the use of satellite images and products. Her focus is on process automation, using several languages such as R, Python, MATLAB, and JavaScript. In addition, his specialization is in the area of hydrology and his main focus is on solving problems related to climate change. He has also held teaching positions in courses such as Hydrology and Extreme Events, and Hydrological Modeling, taught at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
