Professional Experience
Ignacio has experience in surface and groundwater hydrological modeling, flood threshold calculations, as well as in the effective processing of large amounts of hydrometeorological data. His focus is on process automation and information analysis, using programming languages such as R and Python, incorporating artificial intelligence tools. His dissertation focused on the estimation of June and August 2023 floods in the Mataquito river basin, along with the presentation of a probabilistic-based methodology to estimate new warning thresholds in the area. In addition, he has held teaching positions in courses such as Hydraulic Engineering, Hydrology, Groundwater and Applied Hydroinformatics, taught at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and participated as assistant professor in the hydrogeology diploma course taught by the Universidad de Chile, conducting modeling workshops in WEAP and climate change.
